Siamo negli anni '70, il terzo Dottore lavora per la U.N.I.T. ma, dopo l'addio a Jo Grant, sta meditando di andarsene... questo almeno è quello che temono tutti, dal Brig a Benton e Yates.
Fortunatamente il Maestro decide di conquistare la Terra, mettendosi in combutta con un altro alieno che, al solito, si rivelerà molto poco controllabile.
Ovviamente il Dottore non può non immischiarsi nella faccenda, salvando il mondo come al solito.
Trevor Baxendale riesce a costruire una trama perfetta per un serial con Pertwee e Delgado, mentre la lettura di Jon Culshaw delinea alla perfezione ogni personaggio.
