Time Lord Victorious is a brand-new multi-platform Doctor Who story told across audio, novels, comics, vinyl, digital, immersive theatre, escape rooms and games! This is the second release by Big Finish in a trilogy of stories in which the Eighth Doctor faces the Daleks.
This follows He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not (releasing October 2020) and ends with Mutually Assured Destruction (releasing December 2020). In this story the people of Wrax are happy to begin peaceful negotiations with Dalek Empire. The two species are preparing to engage in an alliance that will last throughout the ages. The only one who seems to object to this happy union is the Doctor. He knows that you can never trust the Daleks, but more than that, he knows that the Wraxians should never have existed! InDoctor Who: Time Lord Victorious: The Enemy of My Enemy avevamo lasciato il Dottore ai ferri corti con i Dalek, dopo aver collaborato con loro per negoziare con una razza altrettanto pericolosa e priva di scrupoli.
Imprigionato su una nave Dalek, allontanato dal Tardis e nel bel mezzo del vortice, il Dottore si ritrova a strisciare lungo condotti, mettere in difficoltà e uno contro l'altro ogni Dalek che incontra e salvare gli ultimi sopravvissuti di una razza che rivela i prodromi di uno sviluppo scientifico molto simile a quello dei Dalek.stessi o dei soliti Cybermen.
Ci sono riferimenti agli episodi passati, ma potrebbe essere un episodio stand-alone senza problemi ma, una volta uscito tutto il materiale del progetto, forse converrebbe rileggere/ascoltare tutto per avere un'idea più chiara della sequenza temporale.
Come sempre McGann sembra divertito nel mettere in difficoltà i Dalek e, grazie alla bravura di Briggs, non è difficile distinguere i vari singoli elementi della Time Squad.
