Trama
During the events of Doctor Who - Ravenous 2, Liv Chenka left the Doctor and the TARDIS behind. Just for one year. A year during which she would live on Kaldor, and get to know her sister Tula all over again.
But Kaldor is going through a period of tumultuous change. Technology is changing at an advanced rate - the robots are evolving, artificial intelligence is adapting, and with these changes so politics is altering too. Dangerously.
Can Liv and Tula make a difference during the most turbulent time in the world’s history?

1.1 The Robots of Life by Roland Moore
Dopo aver deciso di prendersi un anno sabbatico dal Dottore, dopo l'episodio Escape from Kaldor in Doctor Who: Ravenous 2, Liv Chenka cerca di reintegrarsi nella società del suo pianeta natale e si ferma su Kaldor.
Le cose sono cambiate dalla sua partenza e convivere con la sorella e gli onnipresenti Voc (robot avanzati già incontrati in Doctor Who and the Robots of Death, con il quarto Dottore e Leela).
Ovviamente le cose si mettono male fin da subito, imbastendo la trama di base per la serie.
1.2 The Sentient by Robert Whitelock
Come se non avessimo avuto già problemi con i vari modelli di Voc, rilanciamo con un prototipo di robot senziente... le cui intenzioni non sono molto favorevoli per gli umani.
Ovviamente le sorelle Chenka sono coinvolte e Liv inizia a subodorare guai.
1.3 Love Me Not by John Dorney
Guai che proseguono nell'ultimo episodio di questo primo box set, quando Liv viene convinta dalla sorella a visitare (medicalmente parlando) uno scienziato suo amico. Vedovo e con una propensione a modificare le impostazioni neurali del Voc mandato per alleviare la pena post funerale.
Nubi neri all'orizzonte... forse Liv è pessimista, ma ci ha sempre preso, fino ad ora.
Mi piace il personaggio di Liv, anche all'inizio (Doctor Who: Dark Eyes 2, non la sua prima apparizione, ma il nostro primo incontro) non mi aveva convinto del tutto. La commistione con uno scenario comparso più volte nell'universo esteso del Dottore rende questa nuova serie anche più interessante.
Pur sapendo come proseguirà la vita di Liv (dopo tutto il Dottore la recupera come previsto) e intuendo che le cose non siano andate proprio bene (non ha voluto raccontare a Helen cosa le è accaduto), si può dire che le aspettative sono alte.
Speriamo non deluda.
