Trama
Serenity Plaza is the most exclusive gated community in South Wales.
You’d kill to live there. Jack and Ianto have gone undercover as a happily married couple. There are rumours that something’s wrong at Serenity Plaza and they’re determined to investigate. But the problem is that Serenity Plaza is just so rigidly normal.
Suddenly, Jack and Ianto have to confront the problems that normal couples face. Sharing a house together, doing the washing up, entering the residents’ baking contest, and hoping to win the Best Kept Lawn.
Competition is fierce. Because this is Serenity Plaza. And you’d kill to live there.¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥
Non è mai stato un mistero il fatto che, tra tutti gli interpreti del gruppo legato a Doctor Who e Torchwood, uno di queli che amo di meno è John Barrowman.
Grande attore, capace di trascinare le folle ma, quando si tratta di leggere un libro o recitare una parte dove, lo ammetto, eccelle in video... non posso dire di gradirlo del tutto.
Anche in questo caso la presenza di Jack non fornisce nessun punteggio in più all'episodio. Divertente l'ambientazione, una via di mezzo tra Wisteria Lane e l'utopia perfetta di The Stepford Wives, divertenti i siparietti tra Jack e Ianto... ma con una trama che sembra costruita solo per poterli sfruttare e dare ai fan quello che non hanno potuto avere in video.
I nemici sono conosciuti, ripresi dell'episodio Sleeper, e il finale è tutto il contrario dell'atmosfera ironica e giocosa della prima parte dell'episodio ma, da un episodio di Torchwood, non si può chiedere di meno.
Un episodio comunque godibile, che avrà soddisfatto molti fan... Io resto in attesa del prossimo...
