Many years ago Jo Grant met Professor Clifford Jones, fell in love and saved the world. It all happened in the idyllic Welsh community of Llanfairfach.
Josephine Jones has come back to Llanfairfach and she finds it a bustling place with a thriving economy. The little town is now at the spearhead of a healthy-eating revolution. And yet, something’s missing. It feels like the heart has gone out of the place.
She falls in with a dashing stranger and realises that although the past was a lot simpler, not everything’s changed. There’s still something nasty in the mine, and it’s been waiting for Jo for a very long time.§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
Secondo audio per Torchwood vs Monsters, questa volta con Jack come protagonista e Jo Jones née Grant come spalla.
Ci ritroviamo nei pressi di Llanfairfach e siamo nuovamente alle prese con Maggie the Maggot e sorelle, sopravvissute alla distruzione provocata dalla UNIT al termine del serial The green death con il terzo Dottore.
L'interazione tra i due è ottima, Jo è sempre Jo e gli anni non sembrano essere passati. L'avevamo già ascoltata nel cofanetto della UNIT dedicato ai membri del passato, UNIT: Assembled, e la riascolteremo presto in uno degli audio di Doctor Who: Ravenous 3, assieme ad altre vecchie glorie.
Grazie all'ottima interpretazione di tutto il cast, compreso Stewart Bevan, in passato marito di Jo Grant (conosciuto proprio in The green death) qui un personaggio a sopresa, ma sempre legato al serial originale, l'atmosfera riesce a essere divertente e frizzanate nonostante il tema.
Un ottimo risultato e il connubio tra il nuovo (relativamente parlando) e vecchio cast è un successo.
