3 (Nouvelle Vague album)

3 is the third album by Nouvelle Vague, released 16 June 2009. Once again, the album consists entirely of cover versions but, according to their official MySpace "this time they’re performing duets with the original singers. The other way NV3 differs from its predecessors is in the arrangements of the songs. Aside from the reggae and bossa nova interpretations, the songs are also inspired by country music and bluegrass. For this is what they do best; they take the songs that you adore and make you fall in love with them all over again."

Dopo un bel po' di ascolti il disco mi sembra buono, ai livelli del precedente A Band Apart

In effetti anche a me ci sono voluti parecchi ascolti prima di digerirlo.
Non so se è al livello di Bande a Part, sinceramente (dei tre il mio preferito), ma sicuramente molto più interessante del primo.
E' piuttosto diverso, e i duetti con gli artisti "originali" dà un tocco quasi magico a tutto l'album
La mia preferita è in assoluto "all my colours", che potrei ascoltare in loop per ore e ore e ore, adoro la voce di Ian McCollouch! E' bello vedere che gli Echo abbiano colpito così tanto i NV; infatti è la seconda cover che fanno (the killing moon è forse un vero capolavoro).
Bellissima anche "the american"....
Non mi piace molto "god save the queen"... deludente "master and servant", che nemmeno la presenza del mio amatissimo Martin Gore salva

(non dimentichiamo però che all my colours è una delle più sensuali canzoni degli echo....)
